SuperCmd 1.0.7

New Features

Launcher

  • Every Quick AI preset is now a launcher row, so typing "fix grammar" runs it directly instead of going through Quick Prompt first.
  • Added Toggle System Appearance, which switches macOS between Light and Dark. Searching "dark mode" finds it.
  • iCloud and other sections inside System Settings now appear as results, not just the top-level panes.
  • Built-in commands can be switched off from Settings → Commands, or with Disable Command (⌘⇧D) in a row's ⌘K menu. A disabled command leaves the launcher along with its hotkey and alias.
  • The search bar's icon is now a choice in Settings → General: a magnifying glass (the new default), the SuperCmd mark, no icon, or any emoji.
  • ⌘W closes the panel, and the next open starts at the main menu regardless of the Pop to Root delay.
  • Files, folders, and apps can be dragged out of the launcher and Search Files into Finder, the Dock, or any app. Clipboard entries drag out too, as the text, link, file, or image they hold. ESC cancels a drag.
  • Added Copy Path (⌥⌘C) to file and folder rows.
  • Added Send via Email (⇧⌘E), which starts a Mail draft with the selected file attached, from launcher file rows, Search Files, and clipboard file entries.
  • Create Quicklink now appears in the ⌘K menu of any URL result, with the link prefilled.
  • A calculation left on screen when the launcher closes can be recalled with ↑ in an empty search field, like any other query.

Window Management

  • Added Center Half (⌃⌥⇧C), a half-width column centered on the screen, for wide displays.
  • Added Next Display and Previous Display, which move the focused window to another screen while keeping its relative size and position.
  • Added Move to Next Space and Move to Previous Space, which carry the focused window to the adjacent desktop.
  • Window Management can be switched off entirely in Settings, which also frees its shortcuts for other apps. A Reset to Defaults button restores the stock bindings.
  • App hotkeys now switch to an app on another Space instantly, without the slide animation. Pressing the hotkey again either cycles through the app's windows or hides the app, chosen under Settings → Applications → When Pressed Again.

Search Files

  • Opens on Recently Used, the files you last worked on, with the first one selected so the preview is never empty.
  • Tab on a folder lists its contents, ⇧Tab climbs back up, and typing a path such as ~/Documents/rep browses that folder narrowed to "rep". In the launcher, Tab on a folder row hands off to Search Files.

Notes

  • Typing in the notes browser highlights every match inside the selected note. ⇥ / ⇧⇥ and ⌘G / ⇧⌘G step through them.
  • ⌘F opens a find bar in a floating note window, with the same highlighting and cycling.

AI

  • Quick Prompt shows the model's edit as a diff before it lands: removed lines in red, added lines in green, changed words highlighted. ↩ applies, ESC rejects, and you can type a follow-up such as "make it shorter" or edit the result in place (⌘E) before applying. Turn it off under Settings → Quick Prompt → Review changes before applying.
  • Grok gained a reasoning effort setting, in Settings → AI and in the chat window. It defaults to Automatic, which sends nothing and leaves the model's own behaviour unchanged.
  • Chat shows the model's thinking as a collapsible Thought process section above the answer, for Grok, ChatGPT, and OpenRouter models that report it.
  • Images can be pasted straight into the AI Chat composer.
  • AI Chat errors show the provider's own message with a Retry button. Web search is now opt-in per chat from the + menu, and if the search tool fails before the model answers, the chat falls back to a plain answer and says so.
  • Added a master Enable AI Features switch in Settings → AI, plus per-feature switches for Dictation, Read Aloud, Quick Prompt, Agents, and AI Chat. Off means the feature's commands, hotkeys, and models are gone, not hidden.

Settings

  • Added an emoji skin tone preference under Advanced. It applies to the emoji picker and to what gets pasted, and your recents keep working.
  • The Extensions pane now links to the Extension Store.
  • The last onboarding step offers Open at Login, ticked.

Clipboard

  • Re-copying something already in history moves the existing entry to the top instead of adding a duplicate, wherever it was in the list.

Browsers

  • Dia browser history and bookmarks are now searchable.

Improvements

Performance

  • The launcher opens faster. App discovery and icon loading moved off the main thread, the command list only rebuilds when something changed, and extension prewarming waits until the panel is on screen.
  • Searching clipboard history no longer freezes the panel when history holds large clips. Search runs against an index in the database, and previews are bounded.
  • Extension host processes exit when SuperCmd quits or crashes, so they no longer linger and burn CPU.
  • Scratch files left behind by an interrupted file-index build are cleaned up at launch.

Launcher

  • Input methods such as Pinyin, Japanese, and Korean now work in the search field: results narrow while you compose, Return commits the candidate, and ESC abandons it.
  • Apps that declare themselves as background-only despite having a window (BetterDisplay, Parsec) and Steam game shortcuts now appear in the launcher.
  • App hotkey jumps across several Spaces no longer flash the desktops in between.
  • The ⌘ pill stays in the footer while typing, so the app menu is always reachable.
  • The quicklink editor is fully keyboard-driven: Tab and Return move from Link to Name to Tags, and tag suggestions render in full instead of being clipped.

Window Switcher

  • Windows stacked exactly on top of each other fold into one tile marked ×N. Tiles are ordered by how often you use each app, then by position on screen, and no longer reshuffle when you click a window.

AI

  • Quick Prompt stays open when another app takes focus while you type, and remembers its own position separately from the launcher.
  • AI Chat conversation previews in the sidebar render as plain text rather than raw Markdown.
  • OpenAI reasoning models now accept tool calls, so web search works with them.

Read Aloud

  • The macOS voice list no longer shows the same name a dozen times. Voices shared across locales are labelled with their language.

Settings

  • Every Settings search field focuses when you click anywhere on the pill, and the extensions list is a single card.

Localization

  • Every toast is now localized, and 131 interface strings that still fell back to English are translated in all ten languages.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed three crashes seen in field reports: a layout exception when the panel opened at the Medium content size, an audio assertion when dictation or voice capture stopped, and crashes that left no report because a stack overflow had no room to run the handler. Crash reports now capture stack overflows.
  • Search Menu Items now fires items in Electron apps such as Cursor, VS Code, and Slack.
  • Currency amounts typed with two decimals, such as $34.44, convert again.
  • The Search Files preview no longer blanks while arrowing through results.
  • Snippets pasted from the panel place the cursor at {cursor}, matching keyword expansion.
  • The screenshot editor's close dot closes the panel, like ESC, instead of dropping you on the library.
  • Dragging a file into a Finder folder copies it instead of leaving an alias.
  • Drags out of the launcher into web composers now land. A synthetic paste no longer leaves Command held down system-wide, which had been turning every drag on the machine into a move.
  • Raycast 2.x backups (the RAYCFG3 format) now import, including hotkey and window settings, instead of previewing as empty.
  • Cancelling a Quick Prompt run mid-stream no longer pastes the partial result and closes the panel.
  • ⌘C in AI Chat with nothing selected copies the reply instead of wiping the clipboard.

SuperCmd 1.0.6

New Features

Launcher

  • Launcher rows now show the global shortcut assigned to them, as keycaps beside the name.
  • Added ⌘Up and ⌘Down to jump the results list a section at a time.
  • Added searchable dropdowns throughout the app, opened with ⌘P, with a filter field, arrow navigation, and Return to pick.
  • Added command history: pressing Up in an empty search field recalls previously run queries, newest first.
  • Added a Check for Updates command, which reports the result in the toast pill instead of opening Settings.
  • Added a Quit SuperCmd command.

Window Management

  • Added a Toggle Fullscreen action that uses the real macOS fullscreen mode, the same as the green title bar button.
  • One shortcut can now be assigned to several window actions and cycles through them on each press, in the order the Window Management tab lists them. Shared shortcuts carry a badge showing their position in the cycle.

AI

  • Added Grok as an AI provider, signed in with a SuperGrok or X Premium subscription rather than an API key.

Dictation

  • Added Parakeet v3, a multilingual checkpoint covering 25 European languages, installable and removable alongside the existing English one.
  • Added a dictation language setting. Choose Automatic, or state the language you speak and have it passed to the engine, which stops speech being detected as the wrong language or silently translated.
  • The engine is now chosen from a single dropdown, and the language list offers only the languages that engine can actually transcribe, with a warning when a stored choice is not covered.

Calculator

  • A bare foreign currency amount now converts to your region's currency at the live rate, with the rate shown beneath the result. An explicit target such as $5 in eur still wins.
  • Added rates for currencies the European Central Bank feed does not publish.

Settings

  • Settings search now finds individual rows, including commands, applications, window actions, quicklinks, Apple Shortcuts, and extension commands, rather than only tabs and section headings.
  • Results are grouped under headings, carry the real icon of the row they stand for, and can be walked with the arrow keys and opened with Return.
  • Choosing a result, or Configure Command from the launcher, now scrolls to the exact row and highlights it.
  • Clipboard History settings now list the applications SuperCmd blocks by default, so it is clear which password managers are already covered.

Extensions

  • Added Uninstall Extension to an extension command's actions menu, with ⌘Delete as its shortcut.

Screenshots

  • Return now opens a full size preview of the selected capture inside the panel, with the arrow keys still paging through history. ⌘Return opens the annotation editor.
  • Every annotation tool now shows and responds to its number key, and the editor gained shortcuts for copy, save, pin to screen, copy text, and clear all.

Emoji

  • Added the plain directional arrows ↑ → ↓ ← to the symbols category.

Improvements

Energy and Performance

  • Fixed the largest source of SuperCmd's energy use. Menu bar extensions were refreshing on set interval
  • The menu bar status item is now repainted only when what it displays actually changes, instead of on every extension tick.
  • Improvements for Snippet Engine.
  • The agent pill stack no longer runs a continuous timer when no agent is running.
  • Fixed a key monitor and a timer leaking on every Quick Prompt and clipboard editor use.
  • Launcher results now appear in the same frame as the keystroke: search debounces are gone, the file index scan runs in parallel, and stale rows no longer flash between keystrokes.

Launcher

  • The launcher now learns which command you choose for a query, so a result you keep picking rises to the top for that query.
  • A command's own hotkey now closes its screen when it is already open, matching how the launcher hotkey toggles.
  • Momentum scrolling in the panel now carries further after a trackpad flick instead of stopping abruptly.
  • Show Files in Launcher is now off by default, and with it off the file index no longer warms on panel show, so a new install is not asked for Desktop, Documents, and Downloads access. Existing choices are kept, and the Search Files command is unaffected.
  • Arrow keys in the actions menu now stop at the ends instead of wrapping around onto destructive rows.
  • Extension commands now show the Command kind label, matching every other row.
  • Web apps installed from a browser now show that browser's name, so two copies of the same site can be told apart, and chrome youtube finds the right one.
  • System Settings panes and saved quicklinks now carry a parent subtitle, and the top section is titled Results while typing.
  • Footer pills now nest evenly inside the panel's corner curve at every content size, and the panel's edge highlight is dimmer in dark mode.
  • Row typography is consistent across kinds, and the selected row no longer changes weight or draws an outline.
  • The footer's Actions button is now clickable in every mode that shows it, including the Extension Store, Clipboard, Emoji, Camera, Screenshots, Snippets, Notes, Schedule, and Quicklinks.
  • ⇧⌘P is now the pin shortcut everywhere, ⌘P toggles the filter dropdown open and closed, and unpinning keeps the highlight on the row.

Window Management

  • The quarter actions are now ordered clockwise from the top left, both in the settings list and in a shared shortcut's cycle.

Notes

  • An unpinned note now stays in front while you are working in it, instead of dropping behind the application underneath.

Settings

  • Search Quicklinks and Create Quicklink now have rows in Settings, so both can take a global shortcut and an alias.

Privacy

  • Passwords app is by default added in the disabled applications for the clipboard.

Crash Reporting

  • Crash reports now record which binary they came from, so a report can be paired with the symbols that decode its stack, and a release built without those symbols is rejected instead of shipping.

Bug Fixes

Crashes

  • Fixed the app being killed whenever text recognition failed on a copied image. Copying a one pixel tracking image from a web page was enough to trigger it.
  • Fixed the crash that ended every dictation session using Parakeet.

System Actions

  • Fixed Lock Screen only putting the display to sleep and leaving the session unlocked. It now locks immediately, and says so when it cannot.

Keyboard

  • Fixed Hyper Key chords also toggling Caps Lock when Quick Press is set to Toggles Caps Lock.
  • Fixed ⌘Q quitting SuperCmd instead of the application you were looking at. Quit is still available from the menus and as a launcher command, without a keyboard shortcut.

Quicklinks

  • Fixed pressing Return on a quicklink with arguments leaving the panel with nothing focused, so typing went nowhere and the screen could only be left backwards.
  • Arguments now fill in place instead of on a separate screen, the pills stay visible, and ← and → walk between the search field and each argument.

Extensions

  • Fixed extension actions that name an application, such as Open in Cursor, opening in the default application instead.
  • Fixed list and grid sections drawing a heading with no rows beneath it.
  • Fixed the translate extension's language selector never appearing, which made the extension unusable.
  • Fixed the Extension Store showing "No extensions available" when reopened within the Pop to Root window.

Screenshots

  • Fixed clicking a thumbnail taking the full double click interval to select.
  • Fixed Pin to Screen also pinning the capture to the top of the library permanently.
  • Fixed annotations drawing thinner in the editor than in the exported image, and arrowheads drawing hollow in the editor and solid on export.

Dictation

  • Fixed Mistral transcription failing with an invalid model error for anyone who had selected Voxtral Small. That model is not served by the transcription endpoint, so it is no longer offered and existing selections fall back to a working one.
  • Fixed Parakeet reporting itself as not installed when its files were already on disk, or as installed after they had been deleted.

New Features

Interface

  • Redesigned the built-in command icons with a colorful glass icon set — Clipboard History, Snippets, Notes, Quicklinks, Search Files, Translate, Camera, AI Chat, Quick Prompt, Quick Fix, Agents, and the extension Store. Create Snippet, Create Note, and Create Quicklink now share their parent command's icon.
  • Search Emoji & Symbols now uses a smiley emoji as its icon.

Dictation

  • Added a model release delay setting for local dictation models, with idle windows from 1 minute to 2 hours plus Never. The default is 2 hours, so back-to-back sessions never pay a model reload while a long-idle app still returns its memory.

Improvements

Launcher

  • The launcher now opens on the screen you are working on instead of always appearing on the display it was last used on.
  • The panel now stays pinned to its top edge while its content grows and shrinks, instead of jumping around the screen.
  • The launcher no longer flashes a loading indicator while you type — results simply appear when ready.
  • Added ⌘P to pin or unpin the selected command, and ⌘⇧↑ / ⌘⇧↓ to move a pin up or down without opening the actions menu. The menu shows the new shortcuts.

Dictation

  • Hold-to-talk no longer freezes the app while a Bluetooth microphone, such as AirPods, is slow to connect, and a recording that never starts now recovers cleanly instead of wedging the session.
  • Fixed long Whisper transcriptions being discarded by a timeout instead of typed out.
  • After you release the hold key, the pill now shows transcription progress instead of a frozen waveform.
  • Dictation models now load on first use instead of at every launch, unless the release delay is set to Never.
  • Cloud dictation now encodes audio in the background, keeping the interface responsive during long recordings.
  • Reduced the dictation pill's rendering work while recording.
  • Dictated text is no longer written to the system log.
  • Removed the nonfunctional Qwen3-ASR engine option from Dictation settings; a stored Qwen3 selection now falls back to a working engine.

Screenshots

  • Escape now closes the screenshot editor in a single press.
  • The first drag after opening area capture now registers immediately.

Installer

  • The install disk image no longer shows stray system folders next to the app.

Bug Fixes

Launcher

  • Fixed the search bar losing keyboard focus after choosing an item from the actions menu.
  • The launcher now closes when you swipe to a newly created desktop in Stage Manager or Mission Control, matching how it already behaved on existing desktops.
  • The launcher now also closes when Mission Control opens.
  • Newly installed apps now show up in search results as soon as their installation finishes, without relaunching SuperCmd.

Menu Bar

  • The menu bar menu now opens attached to the SuperCmd icon instead of floating near the edge of the screen, and its items show their icons again.

Widgets

  • The calendar widget's permission prompt now appears on fresh installs instead of failing silently.

Stability

  • Fixed a crash when Check for Updates, a Settings deep link, or the chat model picker was the first Settings entry of the session.
  • Fixed the launcher opening invisibly on macOS 26 after closing the desktop space it was last shown on; the window now rebuilds itself automatically.
  • On the macOS 27 beta, SuperCmd now survives a system AutoFill bug that crashed the app whenever one of its windows came forward. If macOS trips the bug, the affected window stays in place — invoking it again brings it forward.

Crash Reporting

  • Crash reports now include the underlying exception message instead of only a signal name.
  • Closing the crash report panel with X now means Don't Send, and the close button is easier to hit.
  • Fixed normal shutdowns from before a reboot being reported as crashes on the next launch.
  • Fixed a crash observed by both the crash recorder and macOS filing two reports for the same exit

  • Added data export for expired trials, available without unlocking the rest of the app.
  • Added trial reminders two days and one day before expiry.

Crash Reporting

  • Added crash reporting. After an unexpected exit, the next launch offers a report to review, share as a GitHub issue, or discard. Nothing is sent automatically.

Improvements

Performance

  • Reduced memory use with roughly 126,000 files indexed from about 641 MB to about 93 MB.
  • Reduced dictation pill CPU use to about 1% while recording and effectively zero once dismissed.
  • The file index now persists between launches and excludes node_modules, DerivedData, caches, and temporary folders by default.
  • Improved file search speed through smaller per-entry search data and fewer path allocations.

Launcher

  • Improved launcher fuzzy search
  • Down Arrow now expands the launcher in Compact mode.
  • Backspace on an empty search field now navigates back, matching Escape.
  • Logical shortcuts now follow the active keyboard layout, so Dvorak, Colemak, and custom layouts work correctly.

Extensions

  • Extension results now show the command name with the extension name beneath it, instead of combining both into the title.
  • Extension file, folder, and application preferences now use native macOS pickers instead of text fields.
  • Reopening SuperCmd within the Pop to Root window now returns to the extension screen you left, with search and selection intact.

Dictation

  • Dictation now shows warm-up progress instead of a listening waveform, and the Stop button appears only while recording.
  • Microphone and Speech Recognition permission prompts are now brought to the front.
  • Local dictation models now stay loaded for the session instead of reloading on each use.

Snippets

  • Snippets now expand as soon as the final keyword character is typed, without requiring a trailing space or Return.

Calculator

  • Added percentage, ratio, date and time, workday, PPI, unit, and function support.

Interface

  • Clipboard images now fit the preview area instead of requiring scrolling.
  • Detail panes for clipboard, snippets, notes, quicklinks, and files now scroll clear of the footer.
  • Return in a tag field now accepts the highlighted suggestion, and Backspace removes the last tag.
  • Settings now appears in Cmd-Tab while open.
  • Apple language model controls are now shown only when Apple On-Device is selected.
  • Replaced the filled back button with a transparent chevron with higher hover contrast.
  • Removed timezone abbreviations from Time widgets.
  • Reduced the brightness of the panel's top outline.

Installer

  • Removed the stray .background and .fseventsd folders from the disk image window.

Languages

  • Reviewed and corrected German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese translations, with consistent terminology across trials, onboarding, providers, and product names.

1.0.1

查看版本

Launcher

  • Search results hold still as you type. Commands you use constantly stayed on top for the first letter, then dropped below apps you'd never opened as you typed more of the name. Ranking was rebuilt so a result only moves when the kind of match actually changes, and your most-used commands keep the top of their group the whole way through a query.
  • Escape goes back, not away. Opening a command by its own shortcut and pressing Escape used to dismiss SuperCmd entirely, while reaching the same screen by typing its name went back to the launcher. Escape now always steps back one level; press it again from the launcher to close.
  • ⌘-number hints only appear after a deliberate hold, so they stop flickering during normal use.

Notes

  • Code blocks render as a single rounded slab across the full width, and the fence markers disappear once you leave the line. Inline code no longer leaves a stray block on the line above.
  • Typing [] creates a real checkbox you can click to tick, with a visible checkmark.
  • ⌘W closes notes.

Extensions

  • SVG icons render. Extensions built around vector artwork showed blank tiles.
  • Action menus are complete. Keyboard shortcuts declared per-platform were being dropped, so some ⌘K menus showed none at all. Menus now also group into sections and show real artwork, and built-in icon coverage went from 39% to 86%.
  • Extensions that hung on launch now work. Commands pulling in a missing package sat at 100% CPU until they timed out.
  • Big list commands stay responsive. One popular extension climbed to roughly 490 MB and froze the panel for four seconds; that workload now costs no measurable time or memory.
  • Commands whose arguments are all optional open on a single Enter instead of two.
  • Menu bar extras open their menu on left-click, show item icons, honour tint colours, and refresh live.
  • Toast notifications posted by extensions have working actions.
  • Searching and scrolling long extension lists is markedly faster.

Window switcher

  • Previews are captured together rather than trickling in one at a time, and each cell holds its full size before its preview arrives, so the grid no longer resizes under the pointer.

Settings

  • AI providers are a dropdown with icons instead of every provider expanded at once.
  • Switching tabs no longer leaves the previous pane on screen.

Dictation
